The incumbent will be responsible for the governance and process execution of enterprise-wide stress testing required under the Dodd-Frank Act (DFAST). Duties include working with key partners in Finance, Credit, Treasury, and Business units throughout the organization to analyze internal and external data, develop appropriate models and/or work with external models and produce stress test forecasts (both regulatory prescribed and idiosyncratic scenarios). Produce and present reports for senior management and the Board of Directors demonstrating potential impacts from those scenarios on the Bank’s risk profile including balance sheet, earnings, capital and liquidity.
Will directly oversee the following process components:
- DFAST cycle planning and preparation
- review of regulatory guidance and requirements (FRB/OCC/FDIC)
- pre-cycle business reviews with key stakeholders
- model/tool inventory process
- procedure maintenance
- independent challenge function to results provided by business partners
- quality control checkpoint before results are reported to executive management, the Board, and the regulators
- consolidation and reporting of governance committee decks (including Board reporting)
- familiarity with regulatory reporting
- escalation and exception tracking
- post-cycle maintenance routines including process enhancements
- partner with internal audit on process governance
“Off-cycle” responsibilities will include: Model Risk Management, annual review and maintenance of enterprise-wide policy, and annual gap assessment of stress testing activities.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related quantitative/statistical discipline. A minimum of 1-5 years financial services experience, preferably including involvement in CCAR or DFAST submittals. Must possess strong quantitative, verbal, written and inter-personal communications skills. The ability to distil substantial levels of information into a cohesive “story” to present to management and the Board of Directors is critical.
The candidate should possess experience with understanding balance sheet and income statement forecasts and a general understanding of stress testing regulatory requirements. The candidate also should have strong experience with process management and governance. Experience in creating models highly desirable but not required. A general understanding of economic variables and their likely impacts to bank balance sheets and performance is required.
