Signature Internet Banking (SIB) Advanced Login Authentication

Signature Internet Banking Advanced Login Authentication is designed to reduce the risk of fraud by confirming user identity when accessing Signature Internet Banking using a company and user ID plus two additional components or factors. Specifically, this solution includes the following components:

  • Complex Device Profiling. During login, extensive details about the company user’s device and network are gathered and evaluated for consistency with their typical behavior and to assess whether there is any indication that fraud may be involved in the login. The result of this evaluation can be used to determine the next step in the login process for the company user. Device Profiling encompasses computers, tablets, and smartphones the company user is using to access Signature Internet Banking.
  • Out-of-Band authentication. Company users verify their identity through the use of a one-time security code that is provided outside the online channel through either an automated voice call or a text message. Because a company user is asked to confirm their identity outside of their online banking session (“out of band”) there is less of a chance that it can be compromised by malware that may exist on the company user’s device.

User ID Harvesting Prevention

User ID Harvesting Prevention deters unauthorized individuals from ascertaining valid user credentials through repeated sign-on attempts with invalid credentials, mitigating potential sign-on attacks. Individuals attempting to sign on to Signature Internet Banking with invalid credentials automatically enter step-up authentication and are given random, system-generated step-up information instead of going directly to the Password page. While the individual attempting to sign on is led to think they are completing step-up validation, there is no validation happening.

Secure Tokens

Signature Bank will issue a secure token that must be used for Wire and ACH transactions.  The token is a pocket-sized device that you can carry around with you. It will show you a one-time-only code which you type into Signature Internet Banking to authorize and protect your transactions.

Transport Layer Security (TLS) Encryption

Once you login to Signature Internet Banking your login information is protected by Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption. This encryption creates a secure environment for the information being transferred between your browser and Signature Bank.

Browser and Operating System Support

For maximum security, Signature Bank recommends the use of the latest browser versions (including security patches) and operating systems offered by vendors. Versions that are two releases older than the current release are not supported. Additionally, if a browser or operating system is no longer supported by the vendor, it is not supported by Signature Bank.
